Alyssa Milano, Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing, Marcus To, and Ian Herring’s series was one step ahead of the drizzly look of the sleeper hit Mr. Robot. They both play up next-gen social relevance turned mobilized disruption theory, touching on both the beleaguered rebels in the basement, and the blustery politics of the boardroom. Kelly and Lanzing are taking the time with this second volume to flesh out a world in which future stories can be told, and under the accessible lines of Marcus To and high gloss of Herring, it continues to be an easy book to recommend to people of a certain demographic. Hacktivist Vol. 2 #3 (Boom! Studios/Archaia) is the book of the week, but I’ll also be checking out the following titles:

Astro City #27 (DC/Vertigo)
Nameless #5 (Image)
Invisible Republic #6 (Image)

It’s not nearly as strong as last week, but there are still a few great picks for this Wednesday. In terms of singles, I’m probably most excited about Beauty #2 (Image) to see if the follow up is as strong as the debut issue. I’ll also check out the following:

Manifest Destiny #17 (Image)

Tokyo Ghost #1 (Image)
Prez #4 (DC)

This is my kind of week! Seriously, it’s like some kind of perfect storm, with two terrific Brian Wood books, Antony Johnston, Warren Ellis, Tradd Moore, and a Marvel Star Wars book that might actually be good! I’m very curious to see how Greg Rucka and Marco Checchetto’s Journey To Star Wars: The Force Awakens: Shattered Empire #1 (Marvel) does since I've found the other Marvel titles to be fairly lackluster. If you’re in San Diego, please consider picking up the Yesteryear Comics Exclusive Variant Cover by Mike Mayhew. I’ll also be checking out this plethora of additional titles:

Rebels #6 (Dark Horse)
Tet #1 (IDW)
Bitch Planet #5 (Image)
Deadly Class #16 (Image)
